Dell HPC Benchmarking (ccls.research.sfsu.edu)

For reasons of security, we don't post our benchmark results publically. However, in addition to research calculations, here are a few of our methods for estimating cluster peformance:

The Dell Cluster as a Render Farm

MPI-Povray external is a computationally parallel version of the award-winning POV-Ray external ray-tracing rendering software. POV-Ray simulates how light would travel from one or more light sources, reflect off objects in a scene into one's eyes. As one might expect, this is a computationally expensive feat, and lends itself well as a high-performance cluster computing application.

High-Performance Linear Systems Package (HPL)

[[http://www.netlib.org/benchmark/hpl/][HPL] is a software package that solves a (random) dense linear system in double precision (64 bits) arithmetic on distributed-memory computers. It can thus be regarded as a portable as well as freely available implementation of the High Performance Computing Linpack Benchmark.
